Kenya Power Predicts A Drop In Cost Of Electricity

The average cost of electricity for industrial consumers, has been on a downward trend from June 2014 to June 2016, thanks to lower thermal generation in the energy mix. Data from power distributor, Kenya Power and Lighting Company shows that the tariff has reduced by 35.1% from 19 US cents per kilowatt to a current 12 cents. But manufacturers say the impact has been marginal. Brenda Kerubo visited 2 plants to find out.
