Melting Aluminum Clean & Cheap With Electricity – Scrap Aluminum Casting, Ingots, Greensand

Melting aluminum with electricity. This was a test run to see how it performed. It was slow heating up (about 2 hours) but once up to temperature it held it well and melted aluminum fast. It burns clean and it’s cheap to operate. This “firing” cost about .00 worth of electricity vs. my old method used about .00 worth of charcoal. Overall I am very please with the results, it is slower but also safer, cleaner, and cheaper. This is an old Paragon Kiln model A55B 125VAC 20A that I picked up cheap second hand… try craigslist.
