Pumped Up Circuits Song

Here is a song I created to help my 6th grade students study. I hope you enjoy.

Matter’s made of atoms

The protons and electrons are in equal amounts

If it gains or loses electrons

Changes to negative or a positive charge

When they’re close together electric force

If they’re opposite charges they’ll attract each other

And do you even know what?

When they have the same charge they will push away

With a power source there’s electric current

That’s unbroken,unbroken, conducting pathways

And this pathway is an electric circuit

Power source, has two ends, with charges opposite

When the current’s a chain it’s a series circuit

One by one, one by one, one out then it’s done

More than one path is a parallel circuit

Current runs, more than one, electric then will transmit

Magnetism-iron, steel

Invisible force pointing to the poles

And Earth has a got a surprise

It’s a magnet too with a huge magnetic field

Shows strength direction flux lines

Electric current through wire electromagnetism

When current passes through a coil

It behaves like a magnet and it’s called solenoid

With a power source there’s electric current

That’s unbroken,unbroken, conducting pathways

And this pathway is an electric circuit

Power source, has two ends, with charges opposite

When the current’s a chain it’s a series circuit

One by one, one by one, one out then it’s done

More than one path is a parallel circuit

Current runs, more than one, electric then will transmit

With a power source there’s electric current

That’s unbroken,unbroken, conducting pathways

And this pathway is an electric circuit

Power source, has two ends, with charges opposite

When the current’s a chain it’s a series circuit

One by one, one by one, one out then it’s done

More than one path is a parallel circuit

Current runs, more than one, electric then will transmit

With a power source there’s electric current

That’s unbroken,unbroken, conducting pathways

And this pathway is an electric circuit

Power source, has two ends, with charges opposite
